Precious metal refining units (Goldsmith plants)
This chemical process is one of the most important. Precious metals can be refined in various methods, according to the type of metal and the production method. Refining is realized through electrolysis (metal is poured into an electrolytic solution to obtain the purest result). But also through a more traditional process, by melting metal into aqua regia (mix of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, well known for its properties to melt “noble” metals) which requires a further process for filtering impurities.
Metals are therefore fused and transformed into grains or lingots.
For this, plants and systems are equipped with pumps, pneumatic and centrifugal (preferred vertical sump construction) for transporting solutions from container to basin where precious metals are treated.
