Gold / silver-plating (Goldsmith plants)

The goldsmith industry is explicitly using gold or silver-plating for covering metals. A conductive surface (copper, silver or aluminium) is coated with a slight layer of gold or silver to decorate jewels as much as to improve robustness, wear and lifetime.
